HP / Pavilion dv9500t Complaints – Poor Customer Service
Description
I was getting error message ( “The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000409) occurred in the application at location ——” ) while performing system recovery using Recovery Manager and also using Recovery Disc. On the HP web site HP acknowledges that “When attempting the recovery process, the following error sometimes occurs on dv6500, v6500, dv9500, and later series notebook PCs with an Intel processor: The Recovery Attempt Has Failed.” HP recommends the solution stating ” If you experience a recovery failure error when attempting the recovery process, contact HP Service and Support to obtain the latest HP Notebook Recovery kit. You will receive a supplemental recovery disk. When you receive the complete HP recovery kit, follow the normal recovery process and insert the supplemental recovery disk when prompted.” But, HP will charge you to $15.00 + S & H to send you this supplemental recovery disk. Everyone who has bought HP’s dv6500, v6500, dv9500 series computers should protest against this practice of charging to fix a problem that HP knows happens due to some defect in their product. Well, I have orderd the Recovery Disc because I have no other choice. But, I am throughly disappointed with the Customer Service experience with HP. I will think twice before I buy HP products. And, I will do my best to discourage others from doing so by pointing out my experience.
