On September 8th at about 8:00 am My wife, daughter, and I were taking our child to school we decided to travel south on road 84 and turn into the back side of the school and after going about 200 yards we hit a 2 inch steel gate that was yellow with a very small sign. the damage to our vehicle was substantial demolishing our hood, head light, windshield, and rear passenger door this is our only car, it is our strong belief that school is negligent in this matter because we were the third car to hit his gate the same way in the last 1 ½ years at that time of day having the sun in our eyes when the sun is the brightest and with no proper warning signs viewable, and if looking down that road from the entrance at that time of day it looks like a string going across, and with the three of us in the car nobody noticed it as I am sure the last two cars that hit it in the last 1 ½ year did, we spoke with officer King he had stated to school officials at Chiawana High School and told them this was a problem at the time we were there and in the past after the other cars had hit the gate due to the injury this gate could potentially cause and if our vehicle was lower and I quote if this car was lower it could decapitate someone. It seems to me that our educated officials and personnel at the High School would have the common sense to see that when heading east down this road at that time of day needing to put down their visor and no warning signs it would be impossible to see this 2×2 inch gate that is bright yellow I’m not an educate man but wow anybody with a little common sense could figure this out, I feel so strongly about this I am willing to take this to court and any other higher level I need to such as the Attorney General. The insurance inspector was not much of an inspector and did not do his job, and was so bad and unprofessional we are writing a complaint to the insurance commissioner and the Attorney General on his actions. He did not do his job properly and was trying his best to intimidate my wife, all we want is our only vehicle fixed so that we can transport our child to school and have safety issues fix on our car so we are legal to drive it… Please contact me so I don’t have to keep pursuing this, and help my wife, daughter and I get our confidence back in our school board officials..
